R7 Preview - Adelaide United vs. MetroStars

We preview Round 7 in the National Premier Leagues - SA competition as MetroStars travel to the VALO Football Centre to face Adelaide United this Saturday afternoon.

MetroStars came from 2-1 down in injury time to snatch a 3-2 victory and save their blushes against Para Hills Knights last Saturday afternoon.

A mistake in defence from the home side allowed Luka Chikwuba to put Para Hills ahead just 7 minutes into the first half.

Logan Marley-Mcfall put the visitors two up just after the break, confidently slotting home Mullen's cutback pass.

MetroStars hit back quickly when Esposito was first to follow up on the rebound after Dylan Smith's shot hit the crossbar.

Several more chances followed which Metro were unable to capitalise on as Para Hills took every opportunity provided to slow the game down as they looked for just their third win of the season.

The clock read 90+2 minutes when substitute Tom Strain pounced from close range to level the scores up at 2-2.

Fabian Barbiero showed that class is permanent with a great piece of skill followed by a pinpoint cross which Esposito headed home to grab a dramatic 96th minute winner.

11th placed Adelaide United will be desperate for points following their 2-1 loss away to Adelaide City. First half goals from Terrance Carter and Nicholas Bucco were enough to condem United to their 6th loss of the season.

Club captain Michael D'Aloisio is set to make his 250th club appearance, having played 389 games in SA total.

MetroStars coach Rob Saraceno has plenty of depth to choose from this weekend. Stefan Cali the only player on the injury list, having suffered a ruptured ACL last time out against this weekend's opposition.
