We sat down with forward Matt Charalambous ahead of our league game against Adelaide Comets to find out more about him in our Get To Know series.

Q: MetroStars debut?

2018

Q. What attracted you to playing football?

My brother.

Q. What brought you to Metro?

The culture of winning.

Q. How long have you been at Metro?

This is my second year.

Q. How many years have you played football for, and for what clubs?

Since I was about 7. I’ve played for Cumberland, Adelaide Blue Eagles and now MetroStars.

Q. Biggest influence on your career?

My pops.

Q. Do you have any footballing superstitions and a favourite number?

I don’t like touching lines. My favourite number is 16.

Q. What club do you support and why?

Arsenal, because my brother and cousins forced me when I was younger.

Q. Who is your favourite player in the world and why?

Laca, seems like a funny bloke.

Q. Greatest on-field moment?

Scoring in the grand final.

Q. Who do you love to beat?

Anyone who’s high on the table.

Q. Who has been your toughest opponent?
