Applications now open for 2020 Aboriginal Football Academy
The SAASTA Aboriginal Football Academy is a sports-based education program for male & female Aboriginal Students in Years 10, 11 & 12 (in the 2020 school year), run in partnership with the North Eastern MetroStars Soccer Club.
Students interested in joining must be able to demonstrate both an engagement with their schooling, and a keen interest in the development of football abilities. Successful applicants will attend St Clair Recreation Centre once a week (Thursdays) throughout the school year, during which they will participate in a SACE/VET subject** as well as a targeted netball development program.
All students must attend trials as well as complete the registration online at the link provided below. For further information regarding this exciting opportunity, please contact SAASTA.
**Subject selections will vary based on year level & number of applicants
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
- Develop soccer skills
- Receive coaching from elite players and specialist coaches
- Study a sport or culture based subject
- Receive between 20-100 SACE credits**
- Learn more about their culture
- Investigate potential employment & study pathways

November 5th- Testing & Skills 6:00pm till 7:30pm
Venue: MetroStars Soccer Club, T.K. Shutter Reserve Fourth Ave, Klemzig
*Please note; those students selected in the squad will need to attend an induction day at St Clair on Thursday 7th November.
