Under 18s Into Cup Final

North Eastern MetroStars Under 18s have stormed into the Under 18 Federation Cup Final, with a thrilling 6-4 victory over Raiders last night at the VALO Football Centre.

MetroStars fell behind inside the first 10 minutes when Mutuza Binyangi slotted the ball into the back of the net for Raiders, but 4 minutes later, MetroStars equalised through Faisal Malikyar.

On the 20th minute mark, MetroStars took the lead when Mpoyi Mutanda scored, and extended their lead 7 minutes later when Luke Frangakis scored to make it 3-1.

On the stroke of half time, Luis Benedetti made it 4-1 to MetroStars, and the side look like they were sailing into the Cup Final.

However, in a thrilling second half to finish the match, Julian Vella, Joseph Williams and Josh Moran scored within 10 minutes from the restart, and the scores were tied at 4-4.

But, it was MetroStars who prevailed in the end, when Mutunda completed his hat trick, scoring in the 60th and 61st minute.

MetroStars will now face Adelaide City in the Under 18 Federation Cup Final on Monday 11 June.
