U18s Claim Cup Title

North Eastern MetroStars Under 18's have claimed the club's sixth Federation Cup U18/19 Title with a penalty shootout win over Adelaide City at Hindmarsh Stadium.

The match ended 1-1 after full time and extra time, with MetroStars' Caleb Ferraresso producing a number of saves in the shootout to clinch the Cup title 3-1 on penalties.

MetroStars took the lead in stoppage time of the first half, when Faisal Malikyar scored.

But 10 minutes after half time, Adelaide City equalised, and with no further goals in normal time, the match headed into extra time.

With end to end action in extra time, both teams failed to score again, and so the match headed into penalties.

And it was an outstanding performance by Ferraresso in goals in the shootout, who helped clinch the title for MetroStars.

MetroStars won 3-1 on penalties.
