Junior Results - 17 June

We review the action from the Round of 16 matches in the Football Federation SA Junior Cup competitions played on the weekend.

The Under 17s moved into the Quarter Finals, with a 2-1 victory over Playford City. Awal Dut scored five minutes from time to secure the victory, after he initially gave MetroStars the lead after 8 minutes. Playford equalised in the 66th minute, but Dut’s second goal of the match secured passage to the Quarter Finals.

The Under 16s team were knocked out of the Cup, after a hard fought 3-2 loss against West Torrens Birkalla. The Eagles got off to the perfect start, scoring after 5 minutes, but Connor Higgins equalised for MetroStars after 23 minutes. And MetroStars went up 2-1 just before half time, when Saverio Scriva scored. But the Eagles equalised just after half time, and then scored with 12 minutes remaining to capture the victory.

The Under 15 JPL side lost 3-1 to Eastern United in a tough battle at Athelstone Recreation Reserve.

The Under 15 JSL side went down 5-2 away to Cumberland United, after initially going down 4-0 at half time. Louis Rocca pulled two goals back for MetroStars, but Cumberland secured the win and moved into the Quarter Finals.

The Under 14 JPL side battled hard, but eventually went down 3-1 to Adelaide City. Oliver Trimboli equalised for MetroStars after 16 minutes, after initially going down 1-0 in the opening 5 minutes of play. But two second half goals towards the end of the match, meant Adelaide City progressed to the Quarter Finals.

The Under 14 JSL team easily accounted for Mount Barker United with a 7-0 victory at TK Shutter Reserve. Jack Foster scored a hat trick, with Judd Panozzo scoring a double, while Alan Yon and Alem Kopic each scored a goal in the victory.

The Under 13 JPL team had a 3-1 victory over Para Hills to progress to the Quarter Finals. Jeapaul Mbembe scored a hat trick, including two goals in the second half to secure the victory.

The Under 12 JPL side won a thrilling match over Raiders with 1-0 result. Antony Rapuano was the sole goalscorer in the match.

The Under 12 JSL team went down 3-0 to West Adelaide JPL.
