R20 Preview - Para Hills vs MetroStars

We preview Round 20 in the National Premier League – SA competition as Para Hills Knights host North Eastern MetroStars at The Paddocks on Saturday afternoon.

The last time these two sides met, saw MetroStars convincingly win 3-0 at home, however, this time around, both sides are playing for crucial final series spots with three matches remaining.

The Knights sit three points outside the Top 6, after going down 1-0 to West Adelaide last Sunday, and a loss in this match could put a huge dent in their finals aspirations.

On the other hand, MetroStars pegged Campbelltown City’s 4 point lead at the top of the NPLSA table to just one point, after their 2-1 victory over South Adelaide, while the Red Devils slipped up losing 3-2 to Adelaide Comets.

In a match that saw MetroStars control the majority of possession, they needed a 93rd minute goal from defender Lachlan Barr to seal the victory over Panthers.

Anthony Solagna was in outstanding form against Panthers, in a match that saw the return of Fabian Barbiero for his first match of the season.

Matt Dawber, who is in career form this season, will notch up his 50th MetroStars match this weekend, scoring 17 goals in his total club appearances since joining from Adelaide Blue Eagles. He has played 96 club matches locally scoring 18 goals overall.

Liam Wooding is a chance to make a return from injury in the match, while Tom Strain is still unavailable through injury.
