Get To Know - Cohan Morris

Growing up in Whyalla, Cohan left his family and friends in 2013 and headed to Adelaide to chase his football career. “I moved knowing nothing was certain in the city but needed to try my luck and it … was challenging at such a young age,” Cohan said. He joined Enfield City’s Under 17 team, and in the same season, he made his senior debut for the club.

The following season, he moved to Cumberland United. In that same year, he was selected in the Australian Schoolboys team that toured the UK. During the tour, he was scouted by Norwich City, but due to passport issues, he returned to Australia.

“It was a massive bummer as it’s always a kid’s dream that grows up with football to play overseas. But I took it on the chin and returned home pretty inspired.” Said Cohan

Cohan took a chance, and moved to Sydney and was picked up by Sydney Olympic in the National Premier League – NSW Competition, where he made his debut for Olympic against Blacktown City. During his time with Sydney Olympic, Cohan was invited to trial with Western Sydney Wanderers, and was in the starting line up in the preseason match against Mt Durit Town Ranger in July 2016 and came on as a substitute against Central Coast Mariners the following week in front of 4000 people. Following his 10 match stint with Sydney Olympic, he returned to Adelaide and signed for MetroStars. We sat down with Cohan, to find out a bit more about him.
