R1 Preview - Para Hills vs. MetroStars

We preview Round 1 in the National Premier League – SA competition as Para Hills Knights host North Eastern MetroStars at The Paddocks on Saturday afternoon.

The last time these two sides met, saw MetroStars convincingly win 3-1 in our first game of the pre-season, however this time around, both sides are playing for crucial league points and will want to start the season strongly.

​MetroStars will be boosted with return to fitness for Fabian Barbiero, who missed most of last season with a groin injury. New signing Dylan Smith is expected to make his debut for MetroStars and become the 174th player to play for the club.

Matt Dawber will be hoping to build on a tremendous 2018 season, notching up 10 goals in 25 appearances. MetroStars coach Rob Saraceno will be hoping last season's league top goal scorer Christian Esposito can repeat his fine form.

Hosts Para Hills have a few players that will require attention. MetroStars will be familiar with Darsem Shaksi, who spent half a season at T.K. Shutter Reserve last year. Young gun Charlie Devereux had a superb season with Adelaide United Youth and will be hoping to continue that run at The Paddocks.
