R2 Preview - Adelaide Olympic vs. MetroStars

We preview Round 2 in the National Premier Leagues – SA competition as Adelaide Olympic host North Eastern MetroStars at VALO Football Centre - The Parks on Sunday evening.

The last time these two sides met was last season's controversial Elimination Final which saw MetroStars achieve a hard-fought 1-0 win at home. Unfortunately the game will be remembered more for off-the-field issues after an error on the team sheet almost ended Metro's season following a complaint by Adelaide Olympic's management to governing body Football Federation South Australia.

Olympic sit in the top 6 after a come from behind 3-2 win against South Adelaide last Saturday. They will be expecting a good performance at home to keep their momentum going as they chase silverware this season.

On the other hand, MetroStars fought hard to defeat Para Hills Knights at The Paddocks to start our season with a win (highlights here).

MetroStars opened e scoring on the stroke of half-time, with Strain providing a ball from deep to Hamish Gow who snuck the ball under the keeper to net his first ever senior goal.

Dylan Smith was in outstanding form against the Knights and also bagged his first goal for the club since joining from Sturt Lions. Tom Strain also had the ball in the back of the net and will be frustrated with the decision to have it ruled offside.

If selected, Stefan Cali will feature in his 100th competitive game in SA.

Come and join us tomorrow for the start of what is shaping up to be a very exciting season! Alternatively, you can follow live updates on our Twitter @NE_MetroStars or by using the hashtag #MetroStars.
