Get To Know - Lachlan Barr


We sat down with defender Lachlan Barr ahead of our league game against Croydon Kings to find out more about him in our Get To Know series.

Q: MetroStars debut?

Last season (2018) vs. Adelaide Olympic

Q. What attracted you to playing football?

My dad got me playing when I was 4 or 5 and have loved it ever since.

Q. What brought you to Metro?

The gaffer (Head Coach Rob Saraceno).

Q. How long have you been at Metro?

Coming into my second season now.

Q. How many years have you played football for, and for what clubs?

Been playing for 20 years now. Clubs are Westlands Utd, Raiders, Cumberland, White City, FC Internationale Berlin and Bradford City.

Q. Biggest influence on your career?

My old man.

Q. Do you have any footballing superstitions and a favourite number? No superstitions. Favourite number is 13.

Q. What club do you support and why? Big Chelsea supporter because that’s where my dad was born and who he supports.

Q. Who is your favourite player in the world and why? It was John Terry before he retired - absolute legend at Chelsea. Nowadays I enjoy watching John Stones.

Q. Greatest on-field moment? Making my professional debut.

Q. Who do you love to beat?

Adelaide City.

Q. Who has been your toughest opponent? Scott McTominay or Erhun Oztumer
