Get To Know - Cohan Morris

We sat down with defender Cohan Morris ahead of our league game against Adelaide Blue Eagles to find out more about him in our Get To Know series.

Q: MetroStars debut?

Round 1 vs. West Torrens Birkalla in 2017.

Q. What attracted you to playing football?

My dad had a ball at my feet as soon as I could stand, his passion turned into my passion.

Q. What brought you to Metro?

After returning home from Sydney and hearing there was interest from MetroStars, it was a no brainer for me. The club embodies success, always wants to develop and has a one of a kind culture.

Q. How long have you been at Metro?

This is my third season at Metro.

Q. How many years have you played football for, and for what clubs?

I’ve played since I was 4 so there’s a few seasons to date! I’m originally from a country town called Whyalla, so my club career started with Whyalla Croatia until I was about 14/15. I then moved to Adelaide and played for Enfield and Cumberland before moving to Sydney and playing for Sydney Olympic, with a brief stint at A-League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers. Finally, I’m playing for the MetroStars and it’s a privilege.

Q. Biggest influence on your career?

I’d have to say my parents, they initially supported me with all my aspirations.

Q. Do you have any footballing superstitions and a favourite number? No superstitions. Favourite number is 13.

Q. What club do you support and why? I support Manchester United. Once again the old man supported them, therefore I was moulded into supporting them from very young. Ole’s at the wheel!

Q. Who is your favourite player in the world and why?

Can’t go past Eden Hazard (even though I’m nothing similar!). He makes everything look so effortless and magical. He’s top boy. Also love what Sergio Ramos brings to the pitch.

Q. Greatest on-field moment? Would have to be scoring for my country back in 2015 for the Australian Schoolboys, moment I’ll never forget with some great mates.

Q. Who do you love to beat?

Love beating Croydon.

Q. Who has been your toughest opponent?

Every opponent is tough, cannot take anyone lightly.
