MetroStars to face A-League side in friendly

North Eastern MetroStars will face Hyundai A-League side Adelaide United in a trial game next Tuesday night.

It will be the A-League side's first game of their pre-season as they look ahead to their FFA Cup game against Melbourne Knights on the 7th August. It will also the first game under new manager Gertjan Verbeek.

Robbie Saraceno's MetroStars team will be looking forward to testing themselves against A-League opposition. Dylan Smith and Liam Wooding have spent time with United in their A-League squad, both making appearances in the A-League. Fabian Babiero is also set to face the club he made 96 appearances for in all competitions (A-League, Asian Champions League and Club World Cup). Tom Strain may well find himself being marked upfront by his younger brother Ryan, who is part of United's squad.
