Club Update 3.5.20
Dear MetroStars Family
We trust that you and your family have been safe through this time. As many of you may be aware by now, the Federal and State Governments are looking at relaxing some of the restrictions put in place as a result of the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
Whilst not all government guidelines have been formalised, we are pleased to advise that some of the easing of the restrictions relate to community and children sport.
This is a welcomed decision by many in the football community and not one taken lightly. MetroStars along with other local clubs have been in constant discussion with our Governing Bodies and State Government.
Consequently, MetroStars are looking to welcome back our players to TK Shutter in the week commencing the 11th May.
Though we are looking forward to the return of training, there will be changes in how we will operate, in line with any new guidelines from the Government. The safety of our MetroStars family is foremost and paramount above everything else.
The details of how we will operate have not been finalised yet, however once further information has been provided to us through the Government and Governing bodies, the Technical Directors along with the Management Committee will put in place strict new practices to ensure the safety of our players, coaches, volunteers and our parents. We want to ensure the broader goals of our player development coupled with a safe playing environment are met.
Please be aware that at this time games will not be played initially. A decision will be forthcoming dependent on the state of the COVID-19 situation at a later date.
In the meantime, we strongly encourage both parents and players to download the Federal Government COVIDSafe Tracing App, available on both the Apple and Android App Stores. By using this app along with social distancing and other best practice safety measures, we can ensure that our players and parents will be able to enjoy the remainder of the 2020 Season in a safe as practical environment.
We will provide you further information in the coming days. Of course, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me or any of your committee members.
