Football SA to honour Rob Saraceno


MetroStars would like to congratulate Head Coach Rob Saraceno on his nomination for Life Membership of Football South Australia for his outstanding contribution to football in South Australia.

Saraceno made his senior debut in 1995 in the State League for Adelaide City and finished his debut season with 18 appearance, scoring 3 goals.

He went onto to make a further 141 appearances with the Black and Whites, including 6 appearances in the National Soccer League.

Saraceno went on to have spells with Raiders and Modbury Jets before finishing his playing career at White City Beograd. Rob spent four years at Frank Mitchell Park, making 58 sppearances and scoring12 goals.

Robbie went on to coach White City, taking over as Head Coach in 2011 before departing the club 2013.

After a break from the game, Saraceno joined MetroStars in 2015 as an Assistant Coach to Michael Pirone. During this team the club reached the last 16 of the FFA Cup.

Saraceno eventually took over as Head Coach midway through 2016.

In his time at T.K. Shutter Reserve, Saraceno has led the club to consecutive Federation Cup wins in 2016 and 2017 and has qualified for the Preliminary Final three years in a row. He recently coached his milestone 100th game in charge of the club.
