2024 NAIDOC WEEK

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

MetroStars embrace and celebrate the contribution of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to our game, and pledges to take significant action to break down the barriers for indigenous people in the sport.

Over the last 5 years, MetroStars have put a plan in place to ensure indigenous engagement is put at the forefront of development into our great game.

This includes our work through the MetroStars' Aboriginal Football Academy, generating awareness of NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week through our social media platforms, all of which is underpinned by our Statement of Reconciliation published on our website and our annual Indigenous Round along with Croydon FC in collaboration with our great partners Beyond Bank.

In doing so, we build and create greater awareness, education and stronger ties throughout our community.
