MetroStars is excited to announce Ernie Luongo as our MiniRoos Technical Director for our Pre Skill Acquisition Phase for season 2026.

Ernie is synonymous with junior development pathway at MetroStars having run the Shooting Stars and Rising Stars programs for over 20 years, whilst also overseeing various junior development player and coach programs at the club.

Ernie's passion has always been to provide the best possible environment for children to learn, enjoy the game, and grow not only as footballers but also as people.

Throughout his journey, both in the past and now in the present as a Junior / Miniroo Technical Director, Ernie has been fortunate to coach across senior and junior levels. These experiences have reinforced the importance of building a strong foundation of learning and development for every player, regardless of age or stage of their football journey.

Just as importantly, Ernie believe in investing in our phase leaders and coaches — guiding them to strengthen their football knowledge while also developing valuable life skills. Coaching is about more than drills and tactics; it is about mentorship, shaping positive role models, and inspiring the next generation of young minds to understand the game and uphold values to one another.

Ernie's ongoing commitment to junior development at MetroStars is what drives our club forward and ensures that we continue to provide opportunities for all to succeed.

MetroStars is excited to announce Heirman Hussain as our Foundation Phase Lead Coach (boys) for season 2026.

Heirman has over 7 years of coaching experience, mostly in Singapore, with more than a year coaching in South Australia. His roles have included Barca Academy Singapore, EuroAsia FC, and most recently Adelaide Thunder FC as Technical Director.

As Head Coach at Barca Academy Singapore and EuroAsia FC, he worked with a wide range of age groups from U6–U16, focusing on player development and preparing squads for both local and international competitions, mentoring players who have progressed into elite academies and higher leagues in Asia.

At Adelaide Thunder FC, he served as Technical Director, leading the club’s junior development program, mentoring coaches, and creating clear pathways to support player growth across all levels.

Hermain is passionate about developing players, building strong technical and tactical foundations, and creating clear pathways for both players and coaches to succeed.

Hermain's role as Foundation Phase Lead Coach will see him oversee our Under 12 & 17 YPL (boys) teams along with our Under 13-U16 YSL (boys) teams.
