Barnett Named U16 YCC Coach

MetroStars is excited to announce current Adelaide United and former Australian U20 defensive midfielder Jay Barnett as our Under 16 Youth Club Championship (YCC) Head Coach for season 2025.

The name Barnett is synonymous in coaching at MetroStars, with Jay's father Mike being instrumental is laying the early foundations at the club, coaching 180 matches at the club between 2003-2009, a two time League Champion in 2004 & 2009, 4 time League Premier in 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2009 and a two time Federation Cup winner in 2004 & 2008.

Barnett is an Adelaide local with 7 years of professional A-league Experience and has signed on to lead our tremendous group of players next season.

Barnett brings with him a wealth of experience on what it takes to develop footballers and to play at the elite level of Australian football.

He also comes off the back of an extremely successful season of coaching having won the U15 JPL League title and leading his team to the U15 Cup Grand Final.
