Club Statement: Travis Dodd

MetroStars can confirm that Assistant Coach Travis Dodd will depart the club following the end of the club's 2020 National Premier Leagues campaign.

Dodd informed the club of his decision this week and announced the news to players last night.

Travis joined the club as a player in 2016 and made 19 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals.

Dodd helped the team win the Federation Cup that year and qualify for the FFA Cup National Stages, where he netted a last minute equaliser against Victorian giant Bentleigh Greens.

In 2017, he made the natural progression to coaching, taking up the position of Assistant Coach to Head Coach Rob Saraceno.

Together they led to club to another Federation Cup triumph in 2017, defeating Adelaide City 2-0 at Coopers Stadium.

Dodd, along with SAASTA, helped the club break new ground and establish the Aboriginal Soccer Academy in 2019.

MetroStars President Rob Rende paid tribute to Dodd for his contributions to the club over the last four years.

"I personally would like to thank Travis for his dedication and commitment as a player and a coach.

"His professionalism has had an enormous influence on the club on and off the field.

Travis has become a personal close friend and we wish him and his beautiful family all the best, I have no doubt he will excel and succeed in his new role as a senior coach."

MetroStars would like to wish Travis all the best of his future endeavors.
