Rob's Address At 30 Year Anniversary

Read our Club President Rob Rende's call to arms at our 30 Years Anniversary event.

Ladies and gentlemen, friends, family, and members of the MetroStars community, tonight I stand before you with immense pride, overwhelming joy, and deep gratitude.

Tonight, we haven’t just celebrated 30 years of football we’ve celebrated 30 years of belief. Of people daring to dream. Of building something from nothing starting with a conversation in a snack bar and turning it into one of the most respected football clubs in Australia.

We’ve honoured our founders, our legends, our volunteers, our life members, our coaches, our sponsors, our government partners and every person who has given a piece of themselves to this club. Every success we’ve achieved is because of you.

And now, as we reflect on the past, we must also look toward the future.

We are a club with powerful momentum on the pitch, off the pitch, and in the community.

We are returning to our roots by reuniting with women’s football. We are investing in facilities, in development pathways, in social inclusion. We are growing with purpose and building with vision.

But now, it’s time for the next generation to step forward.

This club was never meant to live in the past. It was built to evolve, to lead, and to keep setting the benchmark. And the only way we do that is if the next wave of MetroStars leaders, players, coaches, and volunteers take the baton with pride and run even further.

If you are young, hungry, and full of ideas, this is your time.

If you grew up watching MetroStars win, now it’s your turn to carry the legacy. To write new stories. To lift new trophies. To shape what this club becomes for the next 30 years.

We are handing you a foundation built by sweat, sacrifice, and love. What you build on top of it is up to you.

To everyone who helped us reach this milestone — thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

To those who will carry us forward — we believe in you. And we’ll be right behind you every step of the way.
