Get To Know: Daniel Godley

Introducing our MiniRoos Under 11 Red Coach Daniel Godley, who has been coaching at MiniRoos level the past two seasons.

Although Daniel does not really need introduction!

As the club's Senior Team All Time Most Games Played player with 308 matches between 2004-2015 & 2017, he is MetroStars!

Daniel also had a stint as the Seniors Goalkeeper Coach for a number of seasons, before taking on the coaching role of his son's team.

This season Daniel will be assisted by Ben James.

We asked Daniel who his coaching mentor/s were:

"I’ve been lucky to have played for many excellent coaches over the years & learning much from them, but as far as junior mentors goes I lean on Ernie Luongo a lot and more recently Andreas Michaelides from our under 12’s, the guys an encyclopedia in junior development!".

Whilst the hot weather has meant some training have been cancelled or rescheduled, Daniel provided us an update this preseason. "Our preseason has been fantastic, we have a group of players with huge character that are all pushing each other further."

When asked what we can expect to see from your team this season, Daniel mentioned;

"A lot of individual talent, a lot of character & a team being tested in all aspects of football."
