MetroStars is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Mansueto as the club’s WNPL Coach for season 2026.
With the recent news of the reunification of both MetroStars & Metro United, Mansueto, who took over the reigns mid season in 2025, was the highlighted choice for stability to lead the club into the 2026 season.
Mansueto has previously coached Adelaide Comets and West Torrens Birkalla in the WNPL.
Club President Rob Rende commented on the appointment,
“As we look forward to our reunification, the appointment of Tony is an excellent choice to lead the club into a new era, to continue developing players for future success.”
“Tony is a strong advocate of women’s football and is recognised for his possession based attacking style of football, which compliments the MetroStars way.”
“As a club we are completely focussed on returning to the forefront of the WNPL. In the club’s view, Tony’s appointment puts us in the very best possible position to start that.”
In response to the news, Mansueto remarked,
“I am tuly honoured to accept the role of WNPL Coach for MetroStars as we step into an exciting new chapter following the reunification of MetroStars and Metro United.
The reunification marks a new era for our club, and it is our shared ambition to return to the forefront of the WNPL. I would like to thank the club’s leadership, for their confidence in my vision and approach.”
Further announcements to the club’s Senior coaching panel will be released shortly.
