MetroStars Claim U17 Cup Title

MetroStars have claimed the Under 17 Junior Cup title with a 8-0 victory over Croydon FC at ServiceFM Stadium


The young side secured the League and Cup double, which was also back to back year wins.


Led by coach Tom Monsigneur, the side took the led after 22 minutes after an own goal, which was followed up four minutes later with a goal from Max Chegwidden after following up his penalty shot.


Just before half time, Marcus Gajic made it 3-0, with an error from Croydon's defence led to Gajic slotting past the goalkeeper.


Four minutes after half time, Aiden Williams made it 4-0 from the penatly spot.


MetroStars then scored three goals in four minutes, firstly, Paolo Matto from near the corner flag which deceived everyone, then Joshua Farrell beat the goalkeeper for the cross and slotted into the back of the net, and to round of the third goal in the space of four minutes, Sam Amamdad capitalised on a defensive error to make it 7-0.


Matto secured his double for the game, with a goal in the 71st minute.
