Performance Phase Coaches Named For 2025
MetroStars are pleased to announce the appointments of Adam Van Dommele, Simon Catanzaro, Tom Monsigneur and Terry Westwood to lead our Performance Phase teams (Reserves & U18 competitions) for the 2025 National Premier League SA season.
The Performance Phase program will be managed by Sports Director Nik Kuzman and Club Technical Director & Senior Head Coach Danny Graystone.
Van Dommele has been appointed Reserves Head Coach & Lead Coach overseeing our Performance Phase program.
Van Dommele has spent the past few seasons as Assistant Coach of our Senior team, playing an important role alongside Club Technical Director and Head Coach Danny Graystone.
Van Dommele is a MetroStars Life Member, playing 245 senior matches for the club and winning many League and Cup titles.
Catanzaro has been appointed as a Performance Phase coach and Head Coach of our Under 18 team.
The Football South Australia Hall of Famer, is very familiar with our club, being part of the junior set up in various roles over the past six years while also coaching senior level at other clubs, and joins the Performance Phase coaching team.
In senior football, Catanzaro has coached Mens National Premier League clubs Para Hills Knights and West Torrens Birkalla and Womens National Premier League club Salisbury Inter, leading Inter to their first League title in 2021, along with the WNPL Cup title in the same year.
Catanzaro spent two years in Barcelona, Spain as a Full Time Academy Coach with the Kaptiva Sports Academy, developing young players in the Catalan League, including roles as Under 18 and 23 Coach.
Monsigneur has been appointed as a Performance Phase coach and has coached for over 20 years from juniors to seniors. He was appointed Lead Coach of our Under 16/17 Development Phase teams in 2024, leading our Under 17 side to the League and Cup double.
Monsigneur has also held various senior head coach roles in the SAASL and Collegiate League, and was Senior Coach of Adelaide Comets Womens NPL side in 2023.
Westwood has been appointed as a Performance Phase coach, and returns to the club after coaching our Reserves in 2022.
Westwood has held senior head coach roles with Croatia Raiders in the NPL in 2021 and the past two seasons at Cumberland United in the State League One competition.
MetroStars are very excited with these appointments to assist with the player development of our young Performance and Development phase programs.
