Rochelle Kuhar Medal
MetroStars would like to proudly recognise a true legend of our club and Women’s football.
The MetroStars WNPL Club Champion Medal will now carry the name of Rochelle Kuhar, honouring an incredible contribution and legacy that will forever be part of our club.
The Rochelle Kuhar Medal will be awarded at the club’s Presentation Night on Saturday 19 September.
Kuhar is the current record holder for the most matches played for Metro Women teams, playing 306 senior matches between 2005 and 2023 for Metro United, a remarkable achievement that reflects her dedication, loyalty and commitment to our club.
Kuhar began her career as a 14 year old with MetroStars in 2004 playing in the Under 17 team, and went on to win the team’s Best & Fairest Award.
The following year, Kuhar moved into the Reserves team, and at the age of 15 she made her debut for the senior MetroStars team in the Premier League.
Kuhar went onto win the club’s Best & Fairest Award in 2006 & 2018, along with captaining the side from 2010 to 2015. She was a Premier League winner with Metro in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2020.
As a junior Kuhar was selected for the South Australian U15, U16 and U17 teams for National Championships, and also represented the South Australian School Girls in 2006 & 2007. Kuhar was also selected for the Australian School Girls tour of the UL in 2007 & 2008.
In 2009, Kuhar played for Adelaide United in the W-League., where she played 9 of the 10 matches that season.
In 2026, Kuhar returned to MetroStars to play for the Division 2 side.
The Rochelle Kuhar Medal will serve as a lasting tribute to one of the greats, recognising the outstanding performances and contributions of our WNPL players each season.

Naming the MetroStars WNPL championship medal after Rochelle Kuhar is a fantastic way to honour such a long and successful career. With 306 appearances for Metro United, multiple Premier League titles, years as captain, and several individual awards, her connection with the club clearly goes far beyond statistics. She represents consistency, loyalty and a huge contribution to women’s football.
