Scalzi & Arancio Appointed WNPL Coaches For 2027

MetroStars is excited to announce the appointment of Tony Scalzi and Danny Arancio as Head Coaches of our Womens National Premier League side for season 2027.

Scalzi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our women’s program from his decorated playing career in SA and coaching tenures across both mens and womens competitions.

Scalzi previously coached at Metro between 2019 and 2021 leading the club to the 2020 Womens NPL title, while also winning the WNPL title with Salisbury Inter in 2023.

Scalzi was excited about the opportunity to return to the club:

“Im excited to be returning to a club that has been a great part of my journey. Looking forward to getting back into the WNPL and working alongside Danny, who is coming into the club with a fresh perspective.”

“I’m really looking forward to what we can achieve together and believe we can make a real impact this season.”

Arancio joins the club after serving as Coach of Adelaide Croatia Raiders Reserves with a history of winning leagues & coaching various teams in both mens and womens football at Adelaide University, UniSA, Beograd and Fulham United.

Arancio spoke about his appointment:

“I’m incredibly proud to say that Tony and I will be taking on the Womens Head Coach roles at MetroStars”.

“For a long time, Tony and I have talked about doing something together — standing on the same sideline, working together, sharing our ideas and seeing what we could achieve as a coaching team.”

“A big thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my coaching journey and believed in me along the way. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”
