Strain sizzles against battling Birkalla

TOM Strain’s four goals for MetroStars in a 5-0 belting over Birkalla has further enhanced his chances of joining his younger brother Ryan Strain at Adelaide United.

TOM Strain’s four goals for MetroStars in a 5-0 belting over Birkalla has further enhanced his chances of joining his younger brother Ryan Strain at Adelaide United during the next A-League season.

Tom is back on the Reds radar again since shining during a youth tournament in Indonesia last month.

He was easily MetroStars’ best performer at Adelaide Shores on Sunday as the club claimed its first win after two rounds of SA’s NPL this year.

Tom scored his first goal in the 39th minute before completing a hat-trick which traditionally means he keeps the match ball in the 75th minute before Matthew Dawber scored a third goal.

Tom ended his four goal feat three minutes from time with a neat outside of the boot finish for the former Aston Villa apprentice.
