Michael Daloisio Cup

This weekend's match against Campbelltown City will see the teams play for the annual Michael Daloisio Cup.

The Michael Daloisio Cup honours his contribution at both MetroStars and Campbelltown City.

Michael commenced his junior football career at Elizabeth Grove, Salisbury City and St Augustines Soccer Clubs, then moved onto Para Hills Knights youth teams.

Michael made his senior debut at the age of 15 in 2001 for Para Hill Knights in their Round 11 match against Northern Demons.

In 2002, he was selected to be part of the South Australian Sports Institute program. At the completion of that season, Michael joined MetroStars, where he played 13 matches in the 2003 South Australian Premier League.

He was part of the 2004 MetroStars team that won the treble, claiming the League, Premiership and Cup titles.

After 29 matches over three seasons at MetroStars, Michael joined Campbelltown City where he played 128 matches from 2006-2011, where he captained the side in the later years.

In 2012, Michael re-joined MetroStars, and made an impact in the club’s double run, claiming the League & Cup titles that same year.

Michael was also part of the club’s inaugural National NPL title in 2014, and won the Federation Cups again in 2016 and 2017.

In 2017 he was appointed club captain by coach Robbie Saraceno, a role he held until 2021.

Michael was awarded Player Life Membership of Football South Australia in 2019.

Michael was awarded Life Membership of MetroStars in 2020.

Today, Michael volunteers at MetroStars as coach of one of the Under 7 teams, the team his twin sons Antonio and Angelo play in.
