DEEGAN JOINS METROSTARS

MetroStars is pleased to announce the signing of Matthew Deegan for the up and coming Devine Super League season. Deegan, a midfielder, has played 70 SA League matches for Adelaide Blue Eagles and Campbelltown City and brings in valuable experience to the squad.

"I would like to thank the club (MetroStars) for all their help in bringing me to the club and that I look forward to a great season," said Deegan

Senior Coach Rick Cerracchio was upbeat about the new signing for the club. "We welcome Matt Deegan to the first team, and already we have been impressed by his application to trainings and his assimilation into the club environment. His tenacity and competitiveness is welcomed and this attribute will complement the group which is already showing glimpses of the next generation coming through," said Cerracchio.

In 2003 and 2004, Deegan received a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sports (AIS) and made his senior debut for Adelaide Blue Eagles in 2005. Deegan, also played for Manly Warringa Dolphins (now Manly United) in 2006 in the New South Wales Premier League.

Shooting Stars Soccer Academy

The programme is run on Friday Nights or Sunday Day.  Parents interested in the programme need to print (a double-sided copy) and fully complete the Amateur Registration Form.

Shooting Stars Soccer Academy has a vision to provide opportunities for young players to play, learn and enjoy soccer at all levels from ages 4 and up. Shooting Stars also has gained a strong reputation as a reputable resource for MetroStars Soccer Club and its development for future players and coaches.  Shooting Stars Soccer Academy has a strong commitment to providing excellent soccer instruction in a safe environment, where the players will have an enjoyable, positive learning experience.

Shooting Stars is open to both boys and girls from ages 4 and up and focuses on the fundamental soccer concepts, skills and techniques.  Maximum participation opportunities for all children involved, and parents are encouraged to assist and support participants.

A program that offers various stages and individual levels.  Low player to coach ratio for concentrated development.  A fun program which builds self-esteem and
confidence.

Term 3 (the third 10-week block programme) starts on Friday night the 29th July 2011 at 5:30pm until 6:30pm and Sunday the 31st July 2011 at 4:00pm until 5:00pm.  All training is held at TK Shutter Reserve, Fourth Avenue, Klemzig.
