For me thiswasn't just a win for our club but a win for SA and that meant much more. Likea State of Origin type encounter. It also created an influx of other stateswanting to play teams in our league and preseason tours,” said Tunbridge.

"I would like to thank everyone at MetroStars for theirsupport and extending my family circle as I believe everyone at this club hashelped me feel at home,” said Tunbridge.

Club President Andrew Perrone praised Tunbridge’s career.

"Scott was also a key part of our National NPL Titlecampaign in 2014 and scored the death blow against his previous club SouthMelbourne to take us to the grand final that year,” said Perrone.

"As the most unselfish striker I have met, if Scott is notbanging in the goals himself he is usually involved in setting up someone else.A player that places team results ahead of himself,” said Perrone.

NEW SENIOR COACH APPOINTED

North Eastern MetroStars wishes to advise that Robbie Saraceno has been appointed Senior Head Coach for the remainder of the 2016 National Premier League - SA season.

Club President Andrew Perrone made the official announcement today.

"It is with great pleasure to announce the appointment of Robbie Saraceno as new head coach of our club," said Perrone.

Saraceno joined MetroStars as an Assistant Coach as part of Michael Pirone's Senior team coaching department at the commencement of the 2015 season.

Saraceno, previously coached White City Woodville for three seasons between 2012-2014.

Saraceno had a solid playing career in the local leagues including a stint in the NSL for Adelaide City.

"Robbie comes to our club with a wealth of knowledge, and has already made a great contribution to Michael and the team. It was therefore without hesitation that he would be the obvious choice to take the reins and continue the work that Michael has started and take the team to a new level," said Perrone.

SENIOR COACH ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION

North Eastern MetroStars wishes to advise that Senior Head Coach Michael Pirone announced his resignation from his role, effective Tuesday 26 April.

Club President Andrew Perrone announced the decision to the Executive Committee, after Pirone spoke to the players.

"It is with mixed feelings that we announce the departure of Senior Head Coach Michael Pirone effective Tuesday 26 April 2016 when Michael broke the news to the team," said Perrone.

"Having spoken with Michael throughout the course of the year, he had expressed increased family commitments and changes to his work environment have placed ongoing pressure on him and he felt this would not allow him to continue to make the commitment to his coaching duties to the level that are required and that he had been able to deliver in the past," said Perrone.

"It is always sad to lose a dedicated, hardworking and regular top performer. Our only consolation is that Michael is comfortable with his decision and deems it necessary at this point in his life to achieve a sustainable work/life balance, particularly being a single parent and ensuring he has enough quality time for his two daughters," said Perrone.

"Michael has contributed significantly to the success of this club firstly as a key first team player, and secondly in his various coaching and support roles. We acknowledge Michael’s efforts and thank him for the unconditional commitment and dedication throughout the years, and for being the true club man that he is," said Perrone.

On behalf of everyone at MetroStars, we would like to wish Michael and family the best of success in future challenges and endeavors.
